ABSTRACT
Complete dentures are the first mainstay choice of edentulous patients. For financial reasons, most of the edentate patients still use traditional acrylic full dentures. However, a lot of studies have indicated that CAD/CAM complete denture manufacturing has substantially increased in volume in the past decade. The aim of this study was to analyze the literature in the field of manufacturing complete removable dentures in CAD/CAM using rapid prototyping (RP) of 2-visit protocol. An electronic search was performed in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases from 1995 to 2020 using a variety of key words, including: complete removable dentures, digital complete dentures, CAD design, 3D print. Thirty articles related to the topic were selected. It was found that technological developments of CAD/CAM and RP enabled digital planning and manufacturing of complete removable dentures from start to finish.
