ABSTRACT
Surgical resection is a basic procedure used for the treatment of malignant tumors within the mid face. The resulting communication between oral and nasal cavities disrupts the functions of chewing, swallowing and speech. The purpose of rehabilitation is to separate digestive and nasal tracts, improve the appearance of the face and restore the lost dentition. The use of prosthetic restorations with an obturator is often the only possible therapeutic option. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly improve and search for new methods of making this kind of prosthetic restorations. The use of CAD/CAM technology in dentistry is becoming more and more common, also in the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with oral cancer.
