ABSTRACT
Currently, more and more patients complain of headaches. Almost 79% of the European Union population experience headache every year. The economic cost of treatment in the EU is estimated at 100 billion euro. Since 1967, the problem has been on the increase. According to The International Headache Society classification of headache (ICHD-3), orofacial pains that are secondary to TMD rank second in frequency only to toothache. The main focus of this study was to determine how many patients with headache are also diagnosed with TMD-related issues and then receive causal treatment. To obtain such information literature review PubMed database was searched for articles in English published between 2021 to 2022. Key words were ‟headache and TMD” with exclusion criteria. Diagnostic methods and their accuracy were compared and presented treatment methods were analysed.
