ABSTRACT
A teenage patient presented at the Prosthetics
Department with an injury - complete dislocation
of the two upper central incisors. This traumatic
episode was sustained three months previously
during a PE class. Before the replantation
procedure, diagnostic X-rays of the area of teeth
21, 11 were performed. Tooth 11 was replanted,
while tooth 21 was not found. After a period of
two weeks, a follow-up OPG radiograph was
taken, which showed an extensive cyst in the
left mandibular branch, extending from the
mandibular angle to the mandibular notch. A
two-stage surgical treatment was implemented.
The article describes the treatment plan and
the implemented long-term temporary prosthetic
treatment. In this case, a composite bridge
reinforced with glass fiber of an unconventional
structure was made, in which the preparation of
hard tooth tissues was limited to the necessary
minimum. The access cavity in the adjacent tooth
served as a retentive and abutment element.
The patient’s case is challenging due to the
uncertain prognosis of the replanted tooth, the
limited interdental space and the simultaneous
treatment of the present follicular cyst.
