ABSTRACT
In the case of the single missing teeth, the
implant-retained prosthetic restoration is a
predictable solution, functionally and aesthetically
favorable and currently widely used. The position
of the long axis of the implant may result from the
surgical conditions, but it also affects the method
of construction of the prosthetic restoration
and its aesthetics. In the clinical observations,
screw-retained restorations are considered the
most suitable solution. However, until recently,
their use was limited by the location of the screw
opening, which was located in the extension of
the implant axis. If the screw opening was located
on the vestibular surface or the incisal edge,
it was necessary to make the cement-retained
restoration. The modern methodology of making
screw-retained restorations using special screws
and drivers that allow the screw opening to be
redirected to a more favorable location (the
palatal surface of the restoration or the middle
of the occlusal surface) is described in the paper.
Moreover, it is presented how this problem was
solved with the own modification for the patient
treated 25 years earlier.
